SSRI Research Operations Manager Barbara Rigg recently retired after 35 years of service to Penn State. Barbara started at Penn State in 1991, working as a clerk accounting secretary in the Center for Cell Research, College of Science. She served in various research administrative roles in the PA Transportation Institute, University Health Services, College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, and the College of Agricultural Sciences before starting at SSRI in 2018.
Barbara’s impact on research administration goes beyond the roles she served over the years. She has organized and taught many trainings, sharing her knowledge and expertise of research administration with others.
“Not only has Barbara been a leader, but a true sounding block for her team, always leading them down the road to success,” said PRI Project Manager Nicole Sharkey. “We will miss her guidance and dynamic personality but wish her all the best in this next chapter. I'm sure we will find her at a Penn State Wrestling match, cheering on the team!”
