The NIH Clinical Center's new course will focus on the spectrum of clinical research and the research process.
Introduction to the Principles and Practice of Clinical Research will train students on how to effectively and safely conduct clinical research. The course will be of interest to physicians, scientists medical and dental students, nurses, public health professionals, and other conducting or planning a career in clinical research.
The course will highlight biostatistical and epidemiologic methods, study design, protocol preparation, patient monitoring, quality assurance, ethical and legal issues, and much more.
The course is available at no cost and will take place online. It will consist of 40 lectures with various assignments with an electronic Certificate of Completion after the final exam. Individuals interested in the course can find directions on how to register here.
