Research Interests

I am a social scientist whose research pulls on methods and theory from evolutionary anthropologyfamily demography, and population health science to critically engage with topics relevant to global health and development. At the base of all of my work is a desire to understand variation human health, family structures, and life transitions – into marriage, parenthood and adulthood. Using both quantitative and qualitative research tools, I have explored these topics in isolation and in relation to one another.

In the Shenk Research Group I will be working with an international team to explore the evolutionary dynamics of religion, family size, and child success.
