What NIH’s Definition Means for Researchers in the Health, Life, and Social/Behavioral Sciences Hosted by CTSI, SSRI, and the Office for Research Protections The Office for Research Protections will present a 15-minute overview on NIH’s definition of a clinical trial, which affects all NIH-funded researchers conducting human subjects re-search. The new definition is broader than the usual understanding of a clinical trial, and all researchers must know whether their work is a clinical trial for funding purposes. This quick overview is intended to help research teams understand the definition and will point them to additional resources. Following the brief overview will be a 30-minute Q&A. We encourage researchers to bring their proposals with them. Faculty, staff, postdocs, and graduate students are welcome and encouraged to attend. This overview will be presented in person and online. Log in to https://psu.zoom.us/j/916143740 to attend via Zoom.
