Social Dynamics of Environmental and Climatic Change Working Group Meeting

We are excited to announce the formation of a new SSRI working group: Social Dynamics of Environmental and Climatic Change (SDECC). Our mission is to accelerate social science research on the causes, consequences, and management of climate and environmental change among Penn State researchers. To promote this mission, we will foster information sharing, collaboration building, and mutual assistance, jump-started by several social and networking events.  

We invite you to attend our in-person collaborative kick-off meeting on November 8, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The location is to be determined. 

The goal of this meeting is to  

1. form collaborative groups with shared centers of gravity and plan post-meetings for collaborative groups, 
2. plan follow-up sessions for the SDGC group as a whole (e.g., sharing our research, inviting external guests, introduction to SSRI and other campus resources) 

The schedule is as follows. 

1:00 pm 

Introduction, socialize with food and beverages, and identify initial themes groups 

1:30 pm 

Break out into theme groups 

2:00 pm 

Reports from theme groups 

2:15 pm 

Regroup for additional discussion topics 

2:45 pm 

Reports and plans for future them and SDGC meetings.
